The Pier Antique Show Offers New Opportunities for Attendees
NEW YORK (Nov. 5, 2015) – The Pier Antique Show, held Nov. 14-15 at Pier 94, plans to offer special opportunities onsite to provide a truly enjoyable shopping experience for all that attend.
New this November, the show will feature a distinct section of exhibitors from the International Vintage Poster Fair, the world’s oldest and largest poster fair. These dealers travel from across the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and France to showcase a wide array of original posters from the 1890s through the 1980s in New York City. Genres include travel and transportation, food and product advertising, war and propaganda, and much more. Artists represented include many great masters of the late-nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
“We’re excited to partner with the Pier Antique Show in bringing a broader audience the opportunity to see thousands of original posters from the earliest days of this great art form in the 1890s through the golden years of print marketing in the 1950-1970s. We look forward to a long relationship with the Pier Antique Show and the exciting prospect of opening new venues and markets,” said co-producer, David Pollack of David Pollack Vintage Posters
The International Vintage Poster Fair exhibitors will be located in booths 2420-2430.
The Pier Antique Show will also be hosting two educational talks on Nov. 14 and 15 at 3 p.m. Paul Doros, president of the Art Glass Forum | New York, will be speaking on “The Art Glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany” on Saturday. Lindsy R. Parrott, director and curator of The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass, will be speaking on “An Illuminating Look at Tiffany Lamps” on Sunday. The series is free for those with a valid ticket to the show, however, space is limited. We recommended signing up online prior to the show at www.PierAntiqueShow.com.
For the last four Pier shows, attendees have taken their treasures or family heirlooms to be appraised during the show. In partnership with Skinner Inc., Appraisal Day will be held again this year on Nov. 15 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. All attendees, with a valid ticket to the show, are invited to bring one item to be appraised for free by one of Skinner’s expert appraisers. Each appraiser will provide an unbiased, expert opinion of the attendee’s collectible or antique. Attendees are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by visiting the show’s website to guarantee time with an appraiser. Visit our website to sign up today.
The Pier Antique Show features more than 300 exhibitors presenting incredible collections of antique and vintage merchandise. Items featured on the show floor include a range of kitchen and home décor, paintings, antique jewelry, art glass, ceramics, and more. Also a varied selection of vintage clothing, jewelry, and handbags are available in the popular Fashion Alley area of the show.
New show times for fall 2015 are Saturday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov.15 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about the show, call 239.732.6642 or visit www.PierAntiqueShow.com.
